No. Australian electrical regulations require all mains-powered switches and sockets to be installed by a licensed electrician.
Yes. Matzier switches and sockets are built to standard Australian and New Zealand wall box sizes, with a 120 × 72 mm face. All standard Australian sockets can be replaced directly.
It depends on the range. Smart Wi-Fi and Matter switches require a neutral wire at the switch location — most modern Australian homes already have one, and your electrician can confirm before installation. For the Touch series, a neutral connection is optional.
Smart Wi-Fi switches work two-way and multi-way using standard switch wiring, and you can also set associations through the app so switches operate together or independently. Touch series switches are one-way control only, through the touch sensitive panel.
They can be installed outdoors, however you must ensure they are protected from exposure to direct sunlight and water.
Yes. Our Installation Guide covers both the Touch and Smart Wi-Fi ranges, including wiring notes, DIP switch configuration, testing and common mistakes.
Smart Wi-Fi and Matter switches need no hub — they connect directly to your existing 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network. Zigbee switches do require a Zigbee controller or hub.
No. The smart switches work on the 2.4GHz Wi-Fi band only. Most home routers that support 5GHz also support 2.4GHz.
Smart Wi-Fi switches and power points support Amazon Alexa and Google Assistant; Apple HomeKit and Siri voice commands are under development. Matter products work natively with Apple Home, Google Home and Amazon Alexa. Zigbee switches work with Google, Alexa and Apple HomeKit through a Zigbee hub.
Yes, on Matter products. Matter supports multi-admin functionality, allowing the same device to be shared across Apple Home, Google Home and Amazon Alexa simultaneously.
SmartThings / Aeotec Hub, Tuya Zigbee, Hubitat, Home Assistant with zigbee2mqtt (edge version), Home Assistant ZHA, and FIBARO HC3 Zigbee.
Smart Wi-Fi and Zigbee products are controlled through the Smart Life / Tuya Smart app, available free on iOS and Android.
Yes, the lights can always be operated from the touch sensitive panel, though app control requires an internet connection. Matter switches communicate locally over your home Wi-Fi network, so your lighting continues to respond quickly even if your internet connection goes offline.
No. Each Smart Wi-Fi switch and power point works on its own — no other device is required.
Yes. Every gang appears as its own smart switch, allowing independent control, scheduling, automations and voice commands.
Yes. Automation triggers, schedules, countdown timers and scenes can all be set through the app.
Yes — as long as the existing switch wires to the same point, you can control lights in another room.
No. You would need to purchase the dimmer switch for use with dimmable lights.
Yes, as long as you are using them with a traditional switch.
On the Smart Wi-Fi Touch Light Switch the backlight is preset: red when the switch is on and blue when it is off, so you can check your lights at a glance. You can turn the backlight on or off and adjust its brightness through the app. Touch power points show bright yellow when on and soft yellow when off. Matter models with RGB backlit buttons let you choose the colour, adjust the brightness, or switch the illumination off completely.
It varies by range. Smart Wi-Fi light switches are rated 625W per gang. Touch light switches are rated 1000W per gang, 5A. Zigbee switches are rated 625W per gang resistive and 150W per gang inductive — if the load is lower than 20W a bypass is recommended (one per switch, not per gang). The Smart Wi-Fi power point is rated 10A / 2400W, and the Touch power point has a rated current of 15A.
All models share a 120 × 72 mm face to suit standard Australian and New Zealand wall boxes. Depth varies by series: 37mm for Zigbee, 40mm for Smart Wi-Fi switches and power points, 42mm for Matter switches and 43mm for Touch switches.
Smart Wi-Fi, Touch and Matter switches operate on 110–240V AC, 50–60Hz. Zigbee switches operate on 220–240V, 50–60Hz.

Multiple doors are supported, but one controller is required per door.
All products come with a standard 12 month warranty, valid from the date of purchase as shown on your proof of purchase, and applying across Australia and New Zealand. This warranty is in addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law and does not exclude, restrict or modify those rights.
It covers defects in materials or workmanship that arise from correct use of the device. It does not cover damage caused by abuse, misuse, unauthorised modification, power surge damage, extreme heat or cold or corrosive environments, nor normal wear and tear on covers, cases, housings, connectors and accessories. It does not apply to any product with missing, altered or defaced serial numbers.
All products undergo quality assurance before packaging, and we prioritise careful handling throughout manufacturing and logistics. In the rare instance of a fault being discovered after installation, we will either replace the product with a new one or facilitate a return for you.
Write to us using the contact form, quoting your order number and date of purchase, and briefly describe the fault so our engineers can test it.
Our Australia based team can help you choose the right switch, check compatibility for a job, or work through an install. We usually reply within one business day.
