Warranty Terms & Conditions

All products come with a standard 12 month warranty.

12-month standard warranty applies across Australia and New Zealand. This warranty covers defects in manufacturing that arise from the correct use of the device. It is limited to defects in materials or workmanship and does not cover damage caused by abuse, misuse, unauthorised modification, power surge damage or extreme heat or cold or corrosive environments. The warranty also does not cover the normal wear and tear on covers, cases, housings, connectors and accessories. The warranty does not apply to any product with missing, altered or defaced serial numbers,

What if my product does not work after installation?

Before packaging, all products undergo quality assurance. We prioritize careful handling throughout our manufacturing and logistics processes. In the rare instance of discovering a fault in a product after installation, we will either replace it with a new one or facilitate a return for you.

How to Claim Warranty?

Simply write to us by filling the contact form, quoting your order number and date of purchase and briefly describe the fault for our engineers to test.

Terms and Conditions

1. Overview

This Warranty Against Defects (ā€œWarrantyā€) is provided by Smart Home Labs Pty Ltd (ā€œSmart Home Labsā€, ā€œweā€, ā€œourā€, ā€œusā€) to the original purchaser (ā€œyouā€, ā€œthe customerā€) of our light switch products (ā€œProductā€).

This Warranty is in addition to your rights under the Australian Consumer Law (ACL) and does not exclude, restrict, or modify those rights.

2. Warranty Period

This Warranty is valid forĀ 12 months from the date of purchase, as shown on your proof of purchase (receipt, invoice, or other valid record).

3. What Is Covered

If a Product fails during the Warranty Period due to a defect in materials or workmanship under normal use, Matzier - Smart Home Labs will, at our discretion:

  • Repair the Product,

  • Replace the Product with a new or refurbished unit of equivalent specification, or

  • Provide a refund of the purchase price.

4. What Is Not Covered

This Warranty does not cover:

  • Damage caused by incorrect installation, misuse, neglect, abuse, accident, alteration, or modification.

  • Damage caused by power surges, lightning strikes, flooding, or other environmental factors outside normal household use.

  • Normal wear and tear, cosmetic damage, or surface deterioration that does not affect performance.

  • Products that have been repaired or modified by persons other than Smart Home Labs or an authorised service provider.

  • Any costs associated with removal, reinstallation, or setup of the Product.

5. How to Make a Warranty Claim

To claim under this Warranty:

  1. Stop using the Product immediately.

  2. Contact Matzier at sales@matzier.com.au to initiate your warranty claim.

  3. Provide your proof of purchase and a description of the defect.

  4. If your claim is approved, we will provide the return workshop address.

  5. You must return the Product to our workshop at your expense. Returned goods must be securely packaged to prevent damage during transit.

We will assess your claim and, if approved, arrange the repair, replacement, or refund. The remedy provided is at our discretion, except where otherwise required under the ACL.

6. Costs

  • Return shipping costs are your responsibility.

  • Matzier will cover the cost of shipping the repaired or replacement Product back to you if your claim is accepted.

7. Your Rights Under Australian Consumer LawĀ 

Our goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement or refund for a major failure and for compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage. You are also entitled to have the goods repaired or replaced if the goods fail to be of acceptable quality and the failure does not amount to a major failure.

8. Governing Law

This Warranty is governed by the laws of the State or Territory in which you purchased the Product, and by the laws of Australia.

9. Effective Date

These Warranty Terms & Conditions apply to Products purchased on or after 14/08/2024
